DESCRIPTION:Do you ever find yourself avoiding conversations with family\,
friends\, or neighbors because you worry you might not agree? How can we
begin to feel comfortable talking with one another again and start healing
the divisions between us?\n \nHere’s one idea: What if our faith comm
unity gathered in a relaxed setting to discuss questions we may not all ag
ree on—and practiced truly listening to one another with respect?\n \nS
ince February\, a group at St. Luke has been doing just that. About 15 pa
rticipants have met monthly in the Great Room on the second Saturday morn
ing of each month. The pilot program has been a great success\, and now w
e’re inviting everyone at St. Luke to join in!\n \nOur one ironclad rul
e: No one may say the name of a politician\, candidate\, officeholder or
political party. If you do\, you owe a quarter (cash or IOU accepted)—t
hus the name of our group\, Keep Your Quarters\, Please (or just “Quar
ters\,” for short). Believe it or not\, our discussions have been livel
y\, fun and often filled with laughter—and so far\, no quarters have bee
 n collected!\n \nThis is a self-guided group—each month\, the next topi
 c is chosen together.
